Development of the Small Size Low-Friction Indoor Cable
In Japan, it is required to construct indoor cables in existing multiple dwelling units for FTTH network development. However, some existing multiple dwelling units have no conduit unit for optical cables and it is difficult to add new conduit lines because of expensive construction cost. So, we have to use existing metal telephone cable conduits for realizing additional fibers installation. Therefore we developed the small size low-friction indoor cable. It has low coefficient of friction and suitable for pushing-installation without utilizing any rod into conduits crowded with existing cables.

WiMAX: Requiem for a Dream?
Five years ago all had been otherwise. The world was in preparation for a crisis, A.Geim and K.Novoselov had not yet received the Nobel Price, Intel’s annual turnover was just $34B and the only practical wide-band wireless access technology was WiMAX. Since that time many changes have taken place: the world is in preparation for a new crisis, Intel’s turnover exceeds $50B, there are two more Nobel laureates in Russia and for everyone it has become clear that the future of mobile wide-band access unambiguously belongs to LTE technologies. Intel’s dream about changing the telecommunications market has died. But did WiMAX itself died?.
